Infant Club Foot Appeal….the FACTS

Every day hundreds of children in Africa are born with Club Foot, a disability affecting one or both feet. Without treatment they will only be able to crawl for the rest of their lives. The life chances for these children are bleak.

Infant Club Foot Appeal….OUR AIM

If babies are treated soon after birth it is possible to transform their lives with a low cost, high impact clinical intervention to re-align their foot. Infant Club Foot Appeal is working in Africa, bringing this treatment method to children with Club Foot.
In addition we are training local staff, to build their capacity to provide long term sustainable treatment to children with Club Foot . We are also providing treatment for older children who are suffering the effects of untreated Club Foot, providing crutches, wheel chairs and where appropriate surgical interventions.

I was born in 2004 with both of my feet turned inwards - clubfeet. My Mum and Dad found out about a doctor called Dr Ponseti who had found a way of making feet better without being operated on. Dr Ponseti has helped thousands and thousands of children to be able to walk and run with no pain (like me). Dr Ponseti would have been 100 years old on June 3rd this year. On 17th May, I am doing a sponsored walk in Menorca, where Dr Ponseti was born. I want to raise money for children with clubfoot, who are born in Zanzibar so that they can also walk properly. There is a charity called Infant Clubfoot Appeal who work in Zanzibar, and any sponsorship will go to them. thank you, love from Anthony.
